Boston — DMSE Sports, which has managed and produced more than 1,400 mass-participatory events over the past 40 years, will be back at Gillette Stadium and Patriot Place to manage the Harvard Pilgrim Finish at the 50 5K and at Fenway Park for the Run to Home Base. This is a change of mission at these sites for the event management team—they spent the first six months of 2021 at these facilities, leading the operations and logistics for administering 1.3 million vaccination shots.

REGISTRATION NOW OPEN FOR NEW DMSE SPORTS VIRTUAL CHALLENGE

Boston - Registration is open for the East Coast Run, a virtual team event powered by DMSE Sports that strives to bring together fellow active persons while they’re apart, and to help raise some much-needed funds for YMCA branches along the East Coast. The ECR is modeled after Dave McGillivray’s 1980 run from Winter Haven, FL—the one-time home of the Boston Red Sox spring training facility, to Boston. Over the course of 43 days, McGillivray ran 1,520 miles and raised money for the Jimmy Fund, a Boston-based charity that supports the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Boston — The DMSE Sports Merry-Thon kicked off its 26-day streaker challenge of fitness and holiday spirit earlier this month. The Merry-Thon promises to keep participants moving, even as the weather gets colder, and to spread a bit of holiday joy, even in the midst of a pandemic. For each day over the course of 26 days, participants are asked to complete at least one mile of movement by whatever means the participant chooses, and to complete one act of kindness.

FENWAY PARK MARATHON FIRST OF ITS KIND

BOSTON — The Inaugural Fenway Park Marathon managed by DMSE Sports raised more than $320,000 for the Red Sox Foundation on Friday, believed to be the first marathon ever held totally within a major league ballpark. Fifty athletes from 12 states, including Dave McGillivray, the director of the race who also directs the Boston Marathon, ran the 116 laps to raise money for the charity.

OFFICIAL RESULTS FROM 2017 DMSE SPORTS CLASSIC

NORTH ANDOVER, Massachusetts Nate Martin of Jackson, Missouri, ran at a pace of 5:56 per mile to win the 2017 DMSE Sports Classic half-marathon with a time of 1:17:37, highlighting a weekend full of running and family-friendly events held annually at Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts. Aside from the official competitive races, the popular “Celebrity Mile” was staged on July 22 and Henry Richard, representing the Martin Richard Foundation, won the race by running it in 6:01.
